These Terms govern your use of Soap Calculator - a soap and lye calculator for handmade soap makers.

By downloading, installing, or using Soap Calculator (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. Soap Calculator is published on the App Store as "Soap Calculator: Lye & Recipe" and is operated by Panda Taps LLC ("Soap Calculator," "we," "us"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Soap Calculator is built for handmade soap makers - hobbyists, Etsy and market sellers, and small studios making cold-process, hot-process, melt-and-pour, and liquid soap. Soap-making involves caustic chemicals. You represent that you are an adult, or are supervised by one, and that you are using the App in a context where handling lye is appropriate and lawful for you.
Soap Calculator is a reference and calculation tool. It performs deterministic arithmetic on values you enter, using published saponification (SAP) values for the oils in its catalog, and returns lye weight (sodium hydroxide for solid bars, potassium hydroxide for liquid soap), water weight, superfat figures, predicted bar properties, and a fatty-acid profile. The App also provides recipe and batch organization, photo attachments, cure tracking, and label drafting with PDF and Avery 5160 export.
Soap Calculator is NOT chemistry advice, formulation advice, safety training, or a regulatory-compliance service. It is NOT a substitute for the judgment of an experienced soap maker, a chemist, a safety professional, or any regulatory authority. Every output is a calculator result, not a professional recommendation, and not a guarantee that any batch will be safe, correct, or fit to use or sell.
Sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and potassium hydroxide (KOH) are caustic and dangerous. Soap-making involves hazardous chemicals and exothermic reactions that can cause severe chemical burns, permanent eye injury or blindness, harmful fumes, fire, and other serious injury or death.
Soap Calculator calculates quantities only. It does not supervise your work, train you, ventilate your space, or protect you. By using the App you acknowledge and agree that:
You are responsible for verifying every input you provide and every output you act on before mixing a batch. SAP values, fatty-acid data, and property predictions in the App are compiled from published industry references and are provided for convenience.
Soap Calculator generates draft ingredient lists in INCI format, allergen text, lot numbers, weight statements, and label layouts as a drafting aid. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and legal compliance of any label, ingredient list, allergen disclosure, weight statement, or marketing claim on any product you make, give away, or sell.
The optional on-device AI label copywriter produces draft suggestions only. AI-generated text may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. You must review, edit, and verify all AI-generated copy before using it, and you are solely responsible for any description, claim, or wording that appears on a product you make or sell. Do not publish cosmetic, medical, or therapeutic claims you cannot substantiate.
Soap Calculator Pro is offered through Apple In-App Purchase as one of three options: a Monthly auto-renewable subscription at $1.99 per month with a 3-day free trial; a Yearly auto-renewable subscription at $4.99 per year with a 3-day free trial; or a one-time Lifetime purchase at $9.99. Apple processes all payments. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period via your Apple ID account settings. The Lifetime purchase has no recurring charges.

We may suspend or terminate your access to Pro features if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App and cancel your subscription at any time from your Apple ID account settings.
Soap Calculator, the Soap Calculator name, the "Soap Calculator: Lye & Recipe" listing, the logo, the botanical illustrations, and the design system are the property of Panda Taps LLC. Saponification values and fatty-acid data are compiled from publicly available industry references and are not claimed as original work; they are provided within the App for calculation convenience.
Soap Calculator is provided on an "AS-IS" and "AS-AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Panda Taps LLC EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS all warranties including, without limitation: merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or correctness of any calculation result, completeness or currency of any saponification value or oil data, the suitability or safety of any recipe, the accuracy of any predicted bar property, the regulatory compliance of any generated label, non-infringement, and any warranty arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.
We do not warrant that the App, its calculations, its data, or its outputs are accurate, complete, current, or free from error. You must independently verify every input and every output before relying on any result to make a batch of soap.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PANDA TAPS LLC, ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, PROPERTY, DATA, BUSINESS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO: (a) your use of or inability to use the App; (b) any calculation, prediction, label, or other output the App produces; (c) any soap or other product made, used, given away, or sold in reliance on the App; (d) any chemical burn, eye injury, fume exposure, fire, property damage, personal injury, illness, or death allegedly arising from soap-making or from the use of any product; (e) any label, ingredient list, allergen disclosure, or claim that proves inaccurate or non-compliant; or (f) any error, omission, bug, or inaccuracy in the App or its data.
Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid to Panda Taps LLC through Apple In-App Purchase in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Panda Taps LLC, its owners, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, lawsuits, losses, liabilities, judgments, damages, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the App; (b) your reliance on any calculation, prediction, label, or output from the App; (c) any soap or other product you make, use, give away, or sell that referenced any output of the App; (d) any injury, damage, or regulatory action arising from such a product or from your soap-making; (e) your violation of these Terms; or (f) any third-party claim arising from a product or label that referenced the App's outputs.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from or related to the App or these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts. The App is offered solely for use where lawful; users in jurisdictions where any provision of these Terms is unenforceable agree to the maximum protection permitted by local law.
We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new Effective Date. Continued use of the App after changes signifies acceptance.
